Richard & Lorraine’s Wedding at Gate Street Barn, Surrey

We were back at lovely Gate Street Barn on Friday for Richard and Lorraine’s wedding, back in familiar surroundings but this wedding had it’s own unique touches.

The ceremony was held in the Pheasantry with most of the guests outside enjoying the countryside. It’s the first time Gate Street has had this particular layout and it was a huge success.

Rather than choosing fancy shoes Lorraine wore fantastic boots from Vandevorst and she had one more surprise, a unique arrival in a helicopter!! The Bride, her dad and nephew flew out of Dunsfold airport, where the Top Gear track is, and landed in the field just behind the barn. The guests were very impressed as were the cattle who very kindly allowed their field to be used for the landing!!

We also love the couple’s place names and favours a friend made each ceramic cup with the guests name on and each one had a herb ready for planting. All lovingly arranged by the excellent www.kalmkitchen.co.uk.

We hope you enjoy our favourite pictures.

Steven and Olivia’s wedding at Syon Park House, London

Steven and Olivia love our wedding photography. Having seen what we’ve done before at Syon, they wanted to make full use of the venue as a wonderful backdrop to the photos. So, it was great for us that they’d hired Yes Events to add their spectacular lighting to the Great Conservatory making for stunning shots of the first dance and night shot.

However, even before we got to Syon we’d got some great photos in the bag. We particularly like the lo-key shot at the ceremony of the guest checking his watch unaware that the bride had entered through a different door.

We have to say that it was clear to us that Steven and Olivia have true friends that really care about them. All of the bridesmaids and groomsmen were completely focussed on making sure that the couple enjoyed their day to the full.

Rachel Pan - It was an amazing day and the photos are absolutely stunning.Syon was beautiful anyway and the way in which all the scenery is perfectly captured in the photos is truly wonderful.
I will always have very happy memories of my friends’ wedding and what they looked like on their special day
Thank you for producing such excellent quality in your photography.

Paul & Jen’s Wedding at Syon Park House, London

After a complete weather washout on Friday we were not sure what Saturday was going to be like. However the sun shone at all the right moments and mde for some dramatic cloudscapes.

Jen got ready at the Richmond Gate Hotel with her bridesmaid and great friend Katie. Meanwhile the guys were at The London Apprentice Pub close to Syon Park. Both Paul and Jen were so chilled out all day, that’s why they make such a great couple.

Jen had arranged a surprise mode of transport to Syon, it was a fantastic Classic 1968 VW Beetle driven by the wonderful Helen from www.pollypootles.co.uk. It was a fantastic way for the bride to arrive in style.

However, the biggest surprise we got was when we met Jen’s family! Her cousin Emily and husband Peter had got married at Rhinefield House 5 years ago and we photographed their wedding and another cousin Tim and his fiancee Laura are getting married next year at Gate Street Barn and have booked us too!! It was so lovely to catch up with old friends.

Here are some of our favourite photographs from the day.

John & Cara’s Wedding at the Bingham Hotel, Richmond, Surrey

Last Saturday we photographed John & Cara’s wedding in Twickenham and Richmond. Rain was forecast and there was indeed a thunderstorm in the evening but by then we were all inside. Actually, the rain clouds simply added to the dramatic evening light and wonderful sunset over the Thames at Richmond.

We’ve noticed at weddings that nearly everyone is initially confused on how to tie a cravat. Cravat designs, lengths and widths vary tremendously. So we were very impressed when the father of the bride, Roger, did the sensible thing and watched a video on YouTube to remind himself of the correct procedure. What did we do before the internet?

We thought Cara looked amazing in her Jenny Packham wedding dress and when we went to the top of Richmond Hill for some photos from the viewpoint, passers-by and tourists were all shouting congratulations.

Since we were at the Bingham Hotel a few years ago, they have made some very stylish changes. The style along with the truly excellent service makes this one of the best weddings venues in the area which we are happy to recommend. Here is their website: www.thebingham.co.uk

We’d also like to recommend JJ at Splendid Sounds for her skilful DJ’ing.

Jamie & Sasha’s wedding at St. Peter’s Square, London W6

This really was a unique and special wedding with fantastic attention to detail and a day jammed packed with lots of surprises and entertainment for the guests. Oh and we should also mention that Jamie and Sasha like dogs. The reason we’re telling you this will become clear further down this post; it’s all in the details.

When she was a little girl Sasha lived on Black Lion Lane, went to the the local school and St Peter’s Church. So this wedding was all about her returning to her roots and having a really special day in a beautiful London square that means so much to her.

We started at their home where Sasha, her bridesmaids and the little ones were getting ready.

Bella is almost ready for her Princess Leia impersonation!

Eat your heart out Pippa Middleton!

Meanwhile the guys were tucking into their delicious lunch.

And here is the first hint that Sasha and Jamie like dogs. Here is their gorgeous dog and star of the show Freddie.

The classic shot of the guests showering the couple with confetti and handbags!!

St Peter’s Square is a beautiful reception setting and surrounded by stunning Georgian mansions.

The marquee was decorated in lovely greens and have you spotted the table centrepieces yet?

The fantastic topiary dogs were so unique.

The superb catering was provided by www.bovingdons.co.uk and each table had a nominated guest to carve the roast pork. Jamie’s dad did a first class job.

Then we were entertained with some after dinner opera by www.elegantentertainment.co.uk.

We love these sweets with the couples’ names and date on them.

A Photo Booth is always great entertainment for the guests.

What a fun filled day! The rest of the photographs will be ready shortly in our recent weddings section; contact Jamie and Sasha for the password.
