The day started with a little rain but cleared in plenty of time for Natalie’s arrival at the church.

Claire and her father enjoy a quiet drink together as they wait for the car to return and take them to the ceremony.

This is taken inside because it is now raining lightly outside.

At about 10 past 4 we took Claire and Andy out for some photos around Richmond. It is still raining a bit.

Just ten minutes later and there’s no rain and the sun is coming out.

This is just half an hour after the rain.

But 20 minutes later there is the heaviest downpour we’ve ever seen at a wedding.

But while it threw it down outside we were all inside listening to some very funny speeches.

One of great things about dramatic weather is that after it all you can get some dramatic sunsets.

We are always delighted with the dance shots at Ham Polo Club. Andy and Claire’s first dance started off elegant and romantic and gradually got very, very funky! It was brilliant; absolutely brilliant!

So when Sarah saw Maddy walking along like this we knew we were in for one the best weddings ever!

Yup! She was this gorgeous and this happy ALL day!

Roland & Maddy had 3 of the cutest and well behaved flower girls.

Who all loved Maddy…

… and walked into the ceremony barefoot.

Time for a spot of afternoon tea in the countryside.

If you’re looking for a rustic, country style wedding then Gate Street Barn is the venue for you.

Maddy made all of the leaves for the place settings herself.

Although some may have used them in a way not originally intended.

We have heard some pretty good best mans’ speeches this year. Mark’s was definitely in the brilliant category. Truly one of the very best.

One or two people were clearly delighted to see Amy arrive at the church.

Jamie & Amy’s 2 daughters were their flower girls.

Saturday was the sunniest and hottest day of the year so far. Normally it’s a good thing to have sunshine on the wedding but for wedding photographers it presents a real challenge. We are often looking for the shade in order to control the contrast

There was a bouncy castle which was great for some ‘off-the-wall’ shots.

It was almost too exciting for some.

When Amy threw her bouquet the prospective brides stood back and let it hit the ground. This is because they caught like a bunch a girls.

Fortunately there was a real girl on hand to quickly scoop it up.

Jamie and Amy’s first dance involved the whole family.

Although there were some private moments too.

Brian & Muriel wanted a country style feel to the wedding and Bury Court Barn certainly delivered on that front. It is a delightful venue.

This is Muriel’s identical twin sister Sophie with bridesmaid Delphine.

Muriel’s father gave the best father of the bride’s speech we’ve ever heard. It was very funny and very moving at the same time.

The band was Rollercoaster who we highly recommend.

Graham & Jenny had said that when planning their wedding, the key word was ‘relaxed’. It certainly was. The couple and guests made our job very easy going.

Parents can be so embarrasing can’t they?

Although perhaps Best Men are worse.

Once again, Richard managed to arrange to meet the guys down the pub!

But Richard knew that the wedding was going to go smoothly when one of the ushers showed him his list of instructions from the bride – always a good sign.

This is Katherine’s identical twin sister.

It never fails to raise nervous smiles when the best man can’t find the rings.

There were some great characters at this wedding including a heckling aunt.

“What do you mean: ‘Not a real vicar!!’ ? ”

Anyway, here are our favourites:

The little bridesmaids at the wedding tried very hard to steal the show.

Photography during the service is normally banned at Christ Church but we were very grateful to the minister for allowing us to take one or two shots from the back. This is where the 7D’s quiet shutter release came into its own.

While the couple signed the register, a couple of the bridesmaids had a fit of the giggles.

Emily’s parents were married at the same church.

Emily’s granny was a bit too frail to make it to the wedding so it was nice to be with the couple when they visited her after the ceremony. Granny has a sharp wit and made us all laugh.

The gardens at Granny’s are beautiful so we made good use of them.

Every time we’ve been to Ham Polo Club the sky has been incredible. Sarah took the couple out for some shots at just the right time shortly after sundown.

The band set up some LED lights which fascinated the children.

The new cameras have a higher ISO setting allowing these shots with very low amounts of light.

No, this isn’t Pablo dragging Emma up the aisle; Pablo and Emma are just slightly older.

This is Pablo, on the left, waiting happily for Emma.

However, there always seems to be a moment when the groom thinks to himself, ‘This is getting serious now’!

Really though there’s nothing to worry about.

As both Pablo and Emma are involved in polo, it was only right that they were given a polo stick guard of honour.

Technology has moved on so much now that sometimes even the best photographers struggle to get to grips with their cameras.

But it’s not the camera but where you point it that makes the difference.

Here’s Pablo and the other love of his life.

But Emma understands because this is Emma with her horse.

The chocolate brownies wedding cake was unusual and very yummy!

And popular!

Despite the language barrier everybody enjoyed the speeches.

Naturally there was a polo match to watch at the end of the day.
