The wedding day was full of emotion and love and we were so glad to be there to capture all those little moments. We also got to work with I-do Wedding films again who are excellent videographers and highly recommended.

Grant and Caroline live in Australia, in fact they actually have a house on Manly Beach, Sydney – a far cry from the leafy suburbs of Surrey. They are having another big party on their return to Australia with friends and family and we hope it goes as well as the one here. We also hope that one day we’ll get to visit them in Sydney!!

Claire and her father enjoy a quiet drink together as they wait for the car to return and take them to the ceremony.

This is taken inside because it is now raining lightly outside.

At about 10 past 4 we took Claire and Andy out for some photos around Richmond. It is still raining a bit.

Just ten minutes later and there’s no rain and the sun is coming out.

This is just half an hour after the rain.

But 20 minutes later there is the heaviest downpour we’ve ever seen at a wedding.

But while it threw it down outside we were all inside listening to some very funny speeches.

One of great things about dramatic weather is that after it all you can get some dramatic sunsets.

We are always delighted with the dance shots at Ham Polo Club. Andy and Claire’s first dance started off elegant and romantic and gradually got very, very funky! It was brilliant; absolutely brilliant!

Anyway, here are our favourites:

The little bridesmaids at the wedding tried very hard to steal the show.

Photography during the service is normally banned at Christ Church but we were very grateful to the minister for allowing us to take one or two shots from the back. This is where the 7D’s quiet shutter release came into its own.

While the couple signed the register, a couple of the bridesmaids had a fit of the giggles.

Emily’s parents were married at the same church.

Emily’s granny was a bit too frail to make it to the wedding so it was nice to be with the couple when they visited her after the ceremony. Granny has a sharp wit and made us all laugh.

The gardens at Granny’s are beautiful so we made good use of them.

Every time we’ve been to Ham Polo Club the sky has been incredible. Sarah took the couple out for some shots at just the right time shortly after sundown.

The band set up some LED lights which fascinated the children.

The new cameras have a higher ISO setting allowing these shots with very low amounts of light.

No, this isn’t Pablo dragging Emma up the aisle; Pablo and Emma are just slightly older.

This is Pablo, on the left, waiting happily for Emma.

However, there always seems to be a moment when the groom thinks to himself, ‘This is getting serious now’!

Really though there’s nothing to worry about.

As both Pablo and Emma are involved in polo, it was only right that they were given a polo stick guard of honour.

Technology has moved on so much now that sometimes even the best photographers struggle to get to grips with their cameras.

But it’s not the camera but where you point it that makes the difference.

Here’s Pablo and the other love of his life.

But Emma understands because this is Emma with her horse.

The chocolate brownies wedding cake was unusual and very yummy!

And popular!

Despite the language barrier everybody enjoyed the speeches.

Naturally there was a polo match to watch at the end of the day.

Here’s Richard’s favourite shot of the day or maybe of the year!!

The light in the church was incredible and Richard caught this great moment – By the way Sophie is not crying because she got married but because her sister is singing beautifully during the signing.

Then off to Richmond Hill for some photos

Sophie was given the great honour of throwing in the first ball for the start of the polo match.

The evening light was great too.

Iestyn & Sophie’s first dance was wonderful – there are more pictures in the slideshow.

Will contemplates the step he’s about to take.

And is absolutely delighted about it.

The reception was held at one our most favourite venues – Ham Polo Club. The staff there, Emma and her team from Hunt-Kendall Catering, are just superb.

This is where Will contemplates the wisdom in his choice of Nathan as his Best Man.

Whereas Lynsey and Will’s mum are absolutely delighted about it.

Meanwhile, in a much calmer environment, Marcella is nevertheless just as excited about the wedding.

This wedding had one of the cutest bridesmaids ever.

It can get a bit tricky when everyone wants to congratulate you at the same time.

This is where Marcella discovers that it’s not a good idea to laugh when people are throwing handfulls of rice in your direction. She ended up swallowing a fair few grains, and it wasn’t even cooked!

The pageboy, Caspar, was concerned that some people weren’t taking it all as seriously as they should.

The light on top of Richmond Hill was just fantastic.

The reception was at Ham Polo club. Here is one of the best men, Oliver, caught preparing his speech.

Which, when delivered, had a devastating effect at Mathew’s expense.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Mathew’s mum thought she’d contribute another embarrassing story but Mathew managed to quickly hush it up before anyone else heard it.

After dinner it’s always good to have a coffee; either real or imaginary.

The party really got going with the couple’s first dance.

Although the dancing was a bit ‘unusual’ at times.
